is the author of the story collection Elegy on Kinderklavier (Sarabande). His fiction appears in A Public Space, the Missouri Review, the Seattle Review, and Bat City Review, among others, and has been noted in both The Best American Short Stories and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. He is the recipient of the Truman Capote Fellowship, the John C. Schupes Fellowship, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference Peter Taylor Scholarship. He holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is currently an assistant professor of English in creative writing at Baylor University.
