Jeffrey A. Lockwood was hired as an insect ecologist at the University of Wyoming. But over the course of twenty years he metamorphosed into a Professor of Natural Sciences and Humanities, with a joint appointment between the philosophy department and the MFA program in creative writing. He has received a Pushcart Prize and a John Burroughs Award. His most recent book is Six-Legged Soldiers: Using Insects as Weapons of War (Oxford University Press, 2008).
