Silas House

Silas House is the New York Times–bestselling author of six novels, including his most recent, Southernmost (2018). House’s writing has appeared in Time, the New York Times, Narrative, Garden and Gun, and many other places. House serves on the faculty at the Spalding School of Writing and as the NEH Chair at Berea College.


Of course he loved the story of Joshua in the Bible the best. He had been named for him, after all. And there was a magic about it: the idea that the voices of the people could cause the walls to crumble.
