Vedran Husić was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and raised in Germany and the United States. His fiction can be found in Witness, North American Review, the Massachusetts Review, CutBank, and elsewhere. He’s at work on a novel about the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, from which the story in this issue is adapted.
