                      they spent the summer spinning
				                                     silk buttons fastened
      in air. he found her humming 
				                                             to swaying leaves. a current
   across persuasions
					                                              blew until the world quaked,
  and split form—
					                                                     and the bodies at stake,
    the interior paramour, 
				                                              the pupae inside the chrysalides,
     evolved, became exterior:
				                                          extended wings studded with the Pleiades. 
       a pulse quickens before it slows.
				                                 from one death in the dark, they eclose.
