Poetry  –

Ohio from the Fleeting

we followed railroad tracks, divinations, canal ways leading away
from the highways

ohio      usually the grave rubbings or low sheds first into sight & as a
child i did not learn
to paint      my mother drew the spine of an urchin

from ohio you lose your body      the memory of hands becomes a collective memory
hidden inside the organs of churches:
the boy would fast and rarely come out from behind
the organ
another choked himself between the wood slats of the pavilion

quiet was invaded with trumpets dragged through the earth,
