Colleen Rothman

Colleen Rothman’s short fiction has appeared in Quarterly West, storySouth, and Wigleaf, among others, and was longlisted for the Jesmyn Ward Prize. An alumna of Carleton College, Colleen has studied fiction writing at Tin House Summer Workshop, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and Sewanee Writers’ Conference, which she attended in 2023 as a Tennessee Williams Scholar. She lives in New Orleans.


But in the soup, she could taste his sincerity, that he didn’t see her hunger as something to deny. He would feed her, gently, patiently, until she asked him to stop.
