J. Drew Lanham is an award-winning southern creative who writes to the convergence of race, place, and nature. He is the author of The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature from Milkweed, Sparrow Envy—Poems and Joy Is the Justice We Give Ourselves, both from Hub City Press. He is a 2022 MacArthur Fellow and lives in the South Carolina Upcountry.
